Interactive Storytime starts January 14th 2025!
We're so excited to be offering this class for babies and toddlers, starting Tuesday January 14th!
Each session will run for six weeks with a 0 to 3 years class from 3 to 3.30 pm and a 4 to 6 years class from 3.30 to 4 pm.
Each week, we'll read through a fun children's story, and then act it out together! We will cater the class to the little ones, so it will be super interactive for those who are able to get up and play, and super entertaining for those who are just taking things in!
This will be a parented class, so also a great way to meet other mums in the community and enjoy some of your favourite children's stories told by professional actors.
Feel free to share this with anyone who might be interested! This programming has been toddler approved, by the youngest member of the Sleeping Giants Family, as pictured.

A message from our Managing Director
- Jenny Austin
Managing Director
Guess what -- I'm super shy. I've always been shy. And yet, I can easily perform in front of thousands of people without a second thought.
Sometimes the shy ones have the most to say, the most to offer, they just need to find the right medium through which to communicate those thoughts.
Acting is that medium.
Theatre and film allow us to reveal parts of ourselves, stories and musings in a safe and exciting way. We can affect change through our performances. We can become more than we appear to be. We can find our voice and use it in a way that reaches people far beyond our physical sight.
I've known that I wanted to be an actor since I was in grade 2. My school was putting on a play, and my teacher chose some students to be the leads, while the rest of us sang in the chorus. There were no auditions, no asking if people were interested -- she chose the outgoing students to perform in the play. I didn't even know much about theatre at this time, but I remember being so upset that I wasn't even considered. Just because I didn't speak much, it was assumed that I wouldn't want to (or maybe couldn't) perform in front of the school and our parents.
Fast forward to now -- I pursued my dream of becoming an actor despite countless setbacks, and difficult situations. I have toured internationally, performing in front of thousands of people. I love every second of it.
I still consider myself shy, but acting has given me the confidence to put myself out there and achieve all of the goals I set my mind to.
Sleeping Giants Theatre is all about creating opportunities for young people no matter what.
Let's awaken that Sleeping Giant inside of you, and show the world everything you have to offer
Sleeping Giants Theatre honours and acknowledges that we are situated on Treaty 7 territory, traditional lands of the Stoney Nakoda peoples of the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Wesley Bands, the Tsuut’ina, the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) peoples of Siksika, Piikani and Kainai Band. We also respectfully acknowledge that we are on the homelands of the Métis Nation within Region III. We are so thankful to live, work, and play on these lands and are committed to providing opportunities and scholarships in the spirit of reconciliation.
